Customer Review: One of my son’s favorites
My oldest saw the Planet Hero line in a toy catalogue this past fall, when he was four, and fell in love. He recieved Neptune, along with a few others, for Christmas. They are played with every single day in this house. I have neighbor moms emailing and calling me asking what toys we have that their child is now begging for after playing at our house–it’s always Planet Heroes.
Neptune is one of the absolute favorites around here. Like a previous reviewer said, the air gun is pretty cool. I love that it’s all one piece (the gun, not the figure and gun). And I think the liquid filled head is really cool on the figure. He just looks cooler than the others, in my opinion, and after a 5th birthday and his brother’s 2nd birthday, we now have all but two of the entire line of toys (the other two are on backorder). Neptune is my favorite of all of them. If you can only get a few, make sure Neptune is one of them–he’s the coolest.
As for the planet facts, there are only two or three. My son is pretty into planets, and the facts listed weren’t anything he didn’t already know. However, the numbers that they all have on their chests have taught him the order of the planets, something he was struggling with before.
They have been thrown down stairs, fought over, tossed in the bathtub once, and who knows what else and are holding up great. They look the same as when we bought them.
Customer Review: These guys are HUGE!!
I ordered this figure along with Jupiter and Saturn. The very first thing you notice is the sheer size of them. He’s just not some tiny action figure, the entire package with vehicle and figure is 10-12 inches tall. Along with the size of Neptune comes some weight, don’t go dropping him on any toes if you can avoid it.
The package is covered with facts about the actual planet Neptune, so I was surprised about the educational factor of this toy.
The air-bazooka feature on the ship is a neat novelty, and nice to see something interactive that doesn’t shoot a tiny missile to potentially lose. The other feature, the “water” filling inside the figure is…odd. The shell of the figure looks and feels sturdy but I can’t help but keep checking my son’s toy box for leaks.
The only reason I didn’t give this 5’s is because without investing in other figures (hence, $$$) like any character from any toy line, repeat play can grow boring quickly without his buddies coming to the rescue. Neptune, while fun, isn’t exactly a stand-alone toy.
